Our increasingly popular ATC swap had an Art Deco theme last month. Here are a selection of some of the cards that were swapped. We get some amazing cards coming through from all over the country using a huge range of materials and techniques, some of the cards we get have a definate WOW factor, I wish I could keep them for myself. (I did keep an extra once from our customer browser box because it was hilarious.)
If you want to get involved then visit our forum for details. You don’t need to register with the forum but once registered you can vote on next months title and even make suggestions for future titles. Come on, show us what you can do.

My magnificent clock
I made this the other day with the clock kit that we sell in our altered department. The face is a 12″ by 12″ piece of MDF, first coloured with gold acrylic paint then red acrylic paint….you can faintly see the gold. I then coated it with glaze. The numbers and the clock in the corner were cut from some Tim Holtz papers, and the ‘TIME’ and central pattern came from the Storybook cartridge for the Cricut, cut with some gold patterned card. I hope you like it.

We’ve had a great day today at our card making workshop. What did our ladies make today? Have a look and see.

One collection going home today.
We started off with stamping, colouring and Glossy Accenting, followed that with a male card, (its the shirt and tie), then lunch. After lunch the ladies did some stamping and Glimmer Misting, a shaker card and some chalking with Versamark.

Look at the concentration. This must be a tricky bit!
And here’s Jackie proudly showing off a couple of her creations from the day.

I'm a clever girl.

There are some really amazing punches on the market. Here are a few that arrived today…

I’m a big fan of the Fiskars ribbon border slit punch, and have been playing today with the stacking daisy punches. Another one we had delivered today, was the Spring flower punch, and has a really pretty effect. I made a quick card using pink and black card in just a couple of minutes with just a couple of the punches, and was really pleased with the results… also used one of the gorgeous new butterfly fly stickers which you may be able to see fluttering over the punches in the pic above… they’re bigger than the ones we had before, and the white and black ones look quite elegant!
Spent this afternoon getting ready for tomorrow’s full day workshop, making sure we have lots of scrummy cards to make! Will be playing with the scrumptious glimmer mists again too… any excuse! As a disciple of the glimmer mists, we’d love to see what anyone else is doing with them too…

Coz a gal’s gotta love that glitter & glitz! Spent this afternoon making some really quick cards with our elegant Kanban ladies. Not sure how well it shows up, but I used a quickie glue pen and lots of fine glitter on the ladies to ‘lift’ them. Simple to make, pretty to look at, and a reason to get covered in glitter… what more could I ask for.

As well as me covering the shop in glitter, Andy covered the place with sticky pad backings when he made this gorgeous inverted decoupage card…

Hoping to get a chance to look through our new deliveries tomorrow (we have some lovely layered daisy punches just arrived), so between getting everything arranged for Saturday’s workshop, we’ll get some pics to show them off…

We’re excited to be involved with the release of a brand new magazine – Creative Cardmaking. It’s only available in craft shops, and the first issue is bursting with goodies including one of our gorgeous new Dimity stamp cards from Imadagen Stamps.

For a much better image (sorry Andy!!), pick up your copy from the shop or on line.
